Photos from New Mexico

New Mexico's terrain was very interesting. Rugged, but beautiful. I took the photo of the train with the red rocks behind it while riding on route 66. We were alongside the train tracks much of the time, and there were a lot of trains! Notice that we are still in the desert. We did not see a real tree for miles and miles, no grass either, and the rivers and creeks were all dry, with the exception of the Rio Grande and a fast flowing creek that was important enough to have its own state park! This is the "low desert". We got into the "high desert" later, and it had a little more vegetation, but still no water in the creeks and washes.
