Natchez Trace Parkway. May 13, 2013

We planned this trip for a couple of months, and today we finally set out to cycle the Natchez Trace Parkway, a scenic National Park that stretches 444 miles from Nashville, TN to Natchez, MS. The 6 of us from Michigan met at our house this morning to drive to Nashville.Left to right, we are Otis, Diana, Bill, me, Fred, and Tom.  The other 4 of our group came from Florida, by car and plane.

We all went to dinner at O'Charlie's, which was conveniently across the parking lot from our hotel.  We had a drink and a wonderful dinner, and those who had not previously known one another met for the first time. It seems like we will all get along great! Bill is our sherpa on this trip, and we could not do it without him!

Here we are at the restaurant: Me, Bill, Otis, Diana, Dianne, Fred, Ed, Stan, Barbara and Tom. Our delightful waiter, who is going to be singing on "America's Got Talent" (a national television show) in June, took our photo. What a great beginning for our adventure!

After dinner we returned to the hotel to make final preparations for the ride, which begins tomorrow morning.
