PALM Day 0. June 23, 2018.

We had too many people to all ride together to the beginning of the PALM so we took several cars. Bill drove the truck and pulled the trailer containing all the bikes, tents and luggage. His passengers were Martha, Tom, Dennis and Toby. Dianne and I rode with Alison and the kids, driven in her van by her husband Francis and dropped off at Holland, MI. Adam's friend Griffin and his grandfather John were driven across the state by Griffin's mom Janell.

We arrived at Holland mid-afternoon and set up all our tents. There was no line at registration, so we quickly got our tags and t-shirts and ate dinner out of the cooler.

The showers at Holland High School were not working; we didn't care too much since it was not a riding day... We attended the evening meeting and found out that there are 28 states and 2 Canadian Provinces represented on PALM this year. The largest age group is 60 to 70, but there are also a lot of kids in both the 0 to 10 year group and the 11 to 20 year olds. This truly is a family ride. Pedal Across Lower Michigan (PALM) starts tomorrow!
