Sept. 29, 2011. Rest day at Cape Cod

We walked out for breakfast, then returned to the Inn and packed up. We parked the bikes and walked around the old wharf in Nantucket town while waiting for the 10:30 ferry back to Hyannis.

At Hyannis we dropped Kathie and Dianne off at the JFK Museum and Bill drove me back to Falmouth to pick up a book and go to the bike shop. We've been looking for bike jerseys like one I remembered seeing on my coast to coast trip in 2008.... I found a similar one in Falmouth, and bought one for me and one for Bill. By the time we got back to Hyannis it was past time for lunch. It drizzled on and off all day, a good choice for a rest day!

We drove out to the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitors Center and spent some time there.

I walked across the road to the Nauset Light, which has been moved inland to escape erosion. We decided later that this is the lighthouse on the Cape Cod Potato Chips package that we've been eating all week.

We stopped at another beach along the National Seashore and took each others' photos.

We drove to Orleans, got our rooms, and went to supper. Played some Scrabble, went to bed. We keep talking about how fortunate we are that the rainy forecast we saw before we came here did not come true! We don't mind a day of rain, especially on a rest day!
