September 4, 2014. Arriving at Gaspe Peninsula.

We drove another 350 miles today, arriving at Gaspe around 4 PM. Barbara and Stan were already here; they arrived yesterday after flying into Vermont and renting a car, then driving up to Quebec to tour the area before meeting the rest of us at Mont Joli. We checked into our little motel on the beach.

 

It was raining lightly as we drove in, and the sky looks ominous out over the Atlantic Ocean.

 

We went to dinner at a restaurant at the nearby Art Center. There were sculptures everywhere on the grounds of the restaurant. Each seems to have its own personality, and they continue from the parking lot out into the ocean! Very cool. The waitress took our photo. Left to right are Diana, me, Doris, Barbara, Bill, Fred, Otis, Tom, Dianne and Stan. Now that we are all together we are ready to start this adventure! We ride out in the morning.
