San Juan Islands: day 6. August 25, 2023

We had a leisurely breakfast this morning and then all met at the Friday Harbor float plane dock. We took a group photo at the dock. Anne was not there, as she had left early to drive the van and trailer back to Seattle.

Here we are, left to right: me, Bob, Karen, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Charley (in front), Bill, Lynn, Jocelyn, Andy and Dianne. It was just the right size of group for this trip!

We walked out to the dock and a ferry came into port as we were waiting for our plane. This is the same type of ferry we've been on for our island crossings this week. Finally our plane came in. The pilot checked our names off his list and we enplaned--I got to be "co-pilot", that is, I sat in the front seat but didn't get to do anything.

It was a cool flight, from takeoff at Friday Harbor to landing at Union Lake near downtown Seattle.

Anne was there with the van and trailer and they gave us the choice of being dropped off at the Thompson Hotel in Seattle or at an airport hotel. Dianne and I chose the airport hotel--we had already made our reservation months ago. We fly out tomorrow for the next leg of our west coast adventure.
