San Juan Islands: day 5. August 24, 2023

Today we bicycled all around san Juan Island. Our first stop was at a sculpture garden. It was quite large and some of the sculptures were for sale.

Only a few miles later we stopped at Roche Harbor, a very well restored old mill town.

Our lunch stop was in Lime Kiln State Park. It's incredible how beautiful everything is here! I finally took photos of most of our group at our lunch stop. Bill and Lynn were not there, as they took a wrong turn and when we all figured out what happened they did not want to climb the big hill to get back to us.

After lunch I hiked over to the lighthouse, also within the park. There was a sign for whale watching, leading right to our lunch stop. We did not see any whales.

The next stop on our cycling tour was the Pelindaba Lavender Farm. I never knew so many products could be made from lavender!

Dianne chose not to ride today, and she missed the very best day! We played a couple of games of Scrabble when I got back to the room, and then we all walked out to dinner at the Coho Restaurant. It was an interesting meal--very few choices but all were delicious. The food has been excellent on this trip!
