We were only a couple of miles from today's destination. We had planned on sailing around some of the islands before heading into Gananoque, but the gusty wind was a bit much even for us.
We arrived at the Gananoque Municipal Marina before noon, and waited on the dock for some time before being assigned a slip just about as far as we can get from the office and comfort station.
There are boats from everywhere here. Most are Canadian but there are some from as far away as Florida.
We walked downtown for dinner. We couldn't eat at Tilly's this time (right next door to Linda's). Most places were closed since it is Labour Day here. After dinner and stopped at a bookshop I found on line--new and used books of every kind. I came out with enough books to last a few more rainy days; I hope I don't need them!
We saw these ornate buildings across the river, not sure what they are. The large one looks like a church.
A local man told us that the winds were going up to 50 knots (57 MPH) tonight. It has already started raining and we are closed up in Troika. Guess it's time to get out one of those new books.
