Feb. 20, 2014

Dianne has a strict schedule as befits a professional retiree--Monday, Wednesday and Friday she plays tennis at 8 AM and goes to the gym after. Tuesday and Thursday mornings she does an independent bike ride, and Saturday and Sunday mornings she rides with her bike club, Suncoast Cycling. Friday afternoons she plays Scrabble with her club.  This being Thursday we went for a bike ride.

We rode the Pinellas Trail to Tarpon Springs where I bought postcards for the grandchildren. Then she took me on the new section of bike path that connects the Pinellas Trail to East Lake Trail, a real joy since it eliminates a hairy ride on a very busy road.  By the time we left Tarpon Springs (about 10 miles into our ride) we were facing a brutal headwind. We rode 29 miles altogether, and I was tired enough after that to call it a day, but we had places to go and things to do. Here is Dianne on the trail, wearing her new bright yellow bike angel socks. The narrow section of trail is for walkers and runners and the wide section for bikes.

After showers and lunch we went to AAA to get maps and tour books for our trip to Quebec (this coming September), the drug store for more wine and a hairbrush (forgot mine) and the grocery store for lots of food... she does not cook much when here alone, so we bought everything we both may want to eat in the next week. And more wine. Spaghetti and meatballs for supper; wine, chocolate and Scrabble to wrap up the day. Do you detect a pattern here?
