We decided to go for a ride in the "thumb", the part of the Michigan mitten that (of course) looks like a thumb! We loaded up the bikes and set out for our first post-Covid group ride.
We had a great time! We stayed at The Little Yellow Cottages at Port Austin, MI. They were just as promised! Clean and roomy. We were able to cook and eat there. Bill and I shared a 2-bedroom unit with Diana; Tom and Dennis shared the other 2-bedroom unit and Fred and Doris had a one-room efficiency. It all worked out wonderfully.
The first day we rode from Port Austin to Sebawaing (46 miles), where Bill picked us up. The second day we packed up and rode from Port Austin to just past Harbor Beach (64 miles).
We walked down to the shore of Lake Huron for the sunsets each evening, and had interesting sights along our rides, which followed the shore of the lake. All in all it was a great way to get back into multi-day touring!
