We enjoyed the Black Diamond Trial so much that we decided to do it again! We rode from our cottages, up the hill and over to Taghaunnock Falls State Park. This time we acually looked at the falls!
We liked the trail just as much as we had the first time! The photo of the trail map shows the elevation profile at the bottom--it's all downhill!
Dianne stayed back with Bill and Doris, not wanting to ride the dirt trail. However, she wanted to ride the paved Waterfront trail. She was supposed to wait for us to rendezvous at the Tremain Marina, but took off without us and promptly got lost! She called Bill, told him she was on the trail but did not know where. Of course he could not take the van and trailer on the trail! We found her and she stayed with us while we rode the entire trail. Except for a short construction area it was wonderful!
The Waterfront Trail goes along the Cayuga Inlet in Ithaca, across bridges and through parks, past the farmers' market. We all agreed that it was the best trail! It started raining about the time we were done riding 26 miles. Perfect!
